Andy Laycock / I’ve been a passionate amateur photographer for 30 years and whether using film or digital I love the entire process of photography. I still get the same thrill of ‘being in the zone’ almost every time I go out. Sometimes it pays off and I get images I like, but most of the time it doesn’t. Regardless, it’s something that I am driven to do and will continue with it as long as possible.

Barbara Strigel is a retired educator, photographer, collage artist and bookmaker living in Vancouver, British Columbia. In the same way that painters use color and form to draw out something essential about what is front of them, she uses Adobe Photoshop. Her work has been featured in the emerging artist drawers at the Blue Sky Gallery in Portland, recognized in the top 50 of Photo Lucida's Critical Mass, feature in an interview on Lenscratch and is represented by Art Rental Sales in Vancouver and Koslov Larsen in Houston. The meaning is manifest mostly in feelings that are also intellectually satisfying. IG @carmanah12

Kathryn Ford got her first camera - an Anny 44 - at the age of 10. The Anny is long gone (sadly) but Kathryn is still taking photos. More often than not she uses her iPhone camera, but also uses “real” gear, including an ancient Minolta XE-5. She views herself as a bit of a photographic magpie, photographing whatever gets her attention, from human ephemera - people and their works - on downtown streets to birds and plants in the wild.
