Barbara Strigel is a retired educator, photographer, collage artist and bookmaker living in Vancouver, British Columbia. In post processing, she layers her street photographs with collage elements. In the same way that painters use color and form to draw out something essential about what is front of them, she uses Adobe Photoshop. Her work has been featured in the emerging artist drawers at the Blue Sky Gallery in Portland, recognized in the top 50 of Photo Lucida's Critical Mass, feature in an interview on Lenscratch and is represented by Art Rental Sales in Vancouver and Koslov Larsen in Houston. Dan Wilson / I am a mostly self-taught photographer and mostly a hobbiest, although I have had a few pro gigs over the years. I split my time between Vancouver and Los Angeles (I'm a U.S. citizen.) I love Vancouver. It's one of the most beautiful cities I've been to. I am retired now but most of my artistic life over the years has been as a professional musician. I came to photography in the early 2000s with a focus primarily in landscape and portraiture. I've never really done street photography, never had a formal opportunity, but I had a great time on a photowalk with VanSPC in September, 2024 and would love to do more of it. Looking forward to meeting and working with you all! IG @colornlight

Doris’s work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions, including at Kino Café, Artists in our Midst, PhotoHaus Gallery, Zack Gallery, and The Gallery George. Eric Lusk-Jopson / Eric approached photography as a means to document a cycling trip around the Icelandic coastline in 2019. Since then he and his olympus have not tired of getting wet, dusty and cold. Outside of simple documentary work, Eric is interested in the systems that underpin our cultures and societies. The home, public transportation and food systems are of particular interest and crop up frequently as the subject of his photography. Eric strives to capture these stable foundations neither at their most mundane, nor most exciting, but in the space between them. IG @mustarpouch__

Isla Pedrana / Isla is a designer whose work is driven by typography, lettering, bookmaking, and photography. Her interest in street photography arose from a natural love of creating images and walking as a way of experiencing a city. She is interested in what happens when the camera takes its picture – it makes her view her surroundings differently and forces an editing and composing restriction that she finds helpful. After spending time in various cities taking traditional digital images, her latest work has been more about experimental techniques, using the restriction of the method to help guide the composition. The above image is a double exposed modern Polaroid image of New Westminster. IG @whispervancity @studioislandbright

James Houston / In the area of photography, I consider myself an amateur amateur with a willing attitude to learn, explore and stretch skills, insights and appreciation. Street Photography, in particular, is challenging in many more ways beyond the click of the shutter; I am still finding my own balance. I seek out the properties of a metaphor within an image but I am willing to acquiesce that, sometimes, a picture is just a picture. IG @jameshouston.arts
