As a multicultural photographer and engineer who grew up amongst deserts, snowscapes, tropics, rainforests and skyscrapers, Sri find inspiration in the interplay of urban life, architecture and the natural world and reflects his love for capturing stories in every frame. Each city heโs called home has shaped his eye for detail and appreciation for diverse cultures. Whether itโs the hustle of city streets or the tranquility of nature, his goal is to highlight the intricate connections between our environments and the stories they tell. What one piece of advice would you give street photographers just starting out?
Pick gear that you'll want to carry and take with you everywhere, and one that makes you shoot more. And experiment with what you shoot. (ok that's 3 pieces but all interlinked). This will get you volume of shots to understand what you enjoy, get that portfolio shot (with time and a bit of luck) and most importantly enjoy this subjective art form!
What are your top two places in Vancouver for shooting and why?
I'm a mega city kid having grown up in them. So I naturally tend to head to Granville and Commercial drive, where you do have the highest concentration of people in Vancouver at any given time. Chaos create unique moments!
Which three street photographers have influenced your work the most?
Billy Dinh
Josh K. Jackson
Tavepong Pratoomwong
