PRINT CLUB
The Print Club brings members together to explore the craft of printing photographs including colour management, paper choice, and technique, while learning from each other’s work and process.
The inaugural meeting of the VanSPC Print Club took place on January 23, 2026, hosted by Jason Gallop at Roldorf & Co. Members gathered for an evening centered on craft, technique, and the physicality of the printed image. The meeting opened with a talk by Jason on digital colour management and printing, covering practical steps and considerations essential to achieving consistent, high-quality results from screen to paper. His presentation grounded the evening in the technical foundation that underpins successful printmaking, especially for photographers looking to move beyond digital on screen display into tangible, physical work.
Following the talk, members shared prints they had produced, offering a rare opportunity to see images in their final form and to discuss the choices that shaped them. The room became a collaborative critique space, with conversations focused on technique, paper choices, colour interpretation, and the subtleties of tonal range. Some members offered suggestions for improvement while also highlighting what worked well, creating a balanced dialogue that was both supportive and instructive.
The evening underscored the Print Club’s purpose: to learn from one another, to deepen understanding of printmaking, and to foster a community where photography can be discussed in its most tactile form. It was a strong start to a new chapter for the collective, one that recognizes the printed photograph as an essential part of the craft.
Look out for the announcement of our next meeting, coming soon.
